Sophie is a local schoolgirl who wanted to do something to help other people.
This is her story.
“A few years ago when I was with my Mum and Dad I saw a man sitting on the floor pleading for money. I felt really sorry for him. Then I learnt that there are a lot of other people like him, with no food, no home or no money.
So I came up with the idea of a tea party to raise money for the homeless. It went really well and I felt so happy. After we counted the money, we gave half to Jimmy’s Night Shelter and the other half to Uttlesford Citizens Advice to help people who really needed it. They called it ‘Sophie’s Fund’!
I’m really happy that Sophie’s fund is real. I feel like it can do more to help. It might even change someone’s life.”
